A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Walsall school.

The air ambulance lands in Walsall.

The collision took place just before midday on Monday in Ross Road by Edgar Stammers School.

The boy, understood to be aged three, has been taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands air ambulance from Cosford with a merit trauma doctor on board at 11.53am to reports of a car vs a pedestrian.

The boy was taken to hospital by land ambulance.

West Midlands Police confirmed it was called to Ross Road before midday and the incident involved a collision between a car and young boy.

Speaking exclusively to us, an eyewitness said: “Horrendous incident just on Harden Road at the Zebra crossing by Edgar Stammers. Child hit, air ambulance here now

“Son had to get off the 29 bus right by it. Very shocked. Awful. That poor, poor little child. So sad.”
